Female perspective on tourism

Council of Business Women reviewed the results for 2016 and identified priorities for 2017 the year of development of tourism activities and holding of EXPO-2017

Press conference on the results and plans of the work of the Council of Businesswomen (CBW) was held at the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Zhambyl region.
During the press conference the results of the work of CBW for 2016 were summed up.

As it was noted by the chair of CBW Karlygash Aralbekova, the basic idea of ​​creating the Council is to intensify regional women in the business environment. To date, regional councils of businesswomen were established at 11 branches of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Zhambyl region in ten districts, as well as in the city of Shu. The Council brought together under one wing 90 women entrepreneurs from the region. The regional Council of Business Women has a Board, which includes the most active members of the Council. Board members oversee the district councils and industry groups, as well as provide help to budding women entrepreneurs in starting a business.

"The most important task of the Council is to support rural businesswoman and increase their business activity, - she said. - Council of Businesswomen held off-site meetings in all districts of the region, covering more than 800 rural women".


The result has been a significant increase in the number of women, benefiting from the non-financial support. If there were 701 of them in 2015, in 2016 there were 1126 of them, which is higher by an average of 60%.

"Since the beginning of 2016, specialized  service support has been provided to 1126 businesswomen in eight specialized services of the Centre for servicing entrepreneurs  in the city of Taraz and business support center (BSC) in 11 districts and single-industry towns. They learnt the basics of business and improved the skills of 296 women – Karlygash Aralbekova quoted the data. - 10 projects worth 30.5 million tenge were implemented within the program "Business Road Map", 18 jobs were created. 79 projects worth 241.2 million KZT were approved under the "Road Map of Employment" and 112 jobs were created. 71 businesswomen received 315.8 million tenge received preferential agricultural loans, 95 jobs were created. Property rights of 19 businesses worth more than 132 million tenge were protected".

According to her, the work continues in all areas. The main objective of all initiatives of CBW - promoting women's social and life orientation, encouragement and assistance for budding and existing entrepreneurs. Especially there is a need the support women in rural areas, in remote villages and settlements.

Particular emphasis in the press conference was made on successful projects, which were accompanied by CSE and BSC of the Chamber of entrepreneurs. There a lot of them - recently opened kindergarten "Balbobek" in Zhualy District worth 10.5 million tenge, medical-health complex in Shuya, for the expansion of the activities of which the soft loan was received, and even the project of the businesswoman Aigul Darmenbaeva, which was recently approved by the microfinance organization "Atameken Taraz" from Korday in the amount of 5 million tenge for the opening of the pastry shop.

Among successful examples is SP “K-club”. Young, energetic girl - Zhumagul Almukhan decided to open English language courses by special Montessori system in the town of Karatau. For many people to know about the unusual courses of English, CBW invited Zhumagul to take part in the exhibition and showcase her services at a test site in the spring of last year. As a result, it became popular, there is a need for a large building. At the end of 2016 she addressed for assistance to BSC in Talas district, where she was helped with documents and obtaining a loan of 3.5 million tenge. In addition, she said about another line of work at BSC - the production of environmentally friendly developmental toys by Montessori system, BSC considered this project as unique and, having trained businesswoman on free courses "Business Advisor" prepared her for the competition of grants, which she won. The result she obtained gratuitous grant of 2 million tenge.

In addition, CBW told about plans for 2017, as well as a new line of work - the development of tourism.
"In 2017, we identified tourism development as one of the most important areas of the Council's activities, - said Aigul Akchalova, Board member of CBW, director of "Marrakech restaurant". - Gathering together the representatives of different business sectors, seeing the problem from the inside, we have made the vision of our contribution to the development of tourism. We are very pleased with our cooperation and the signing of a memorandum between the key players in the tourism industry - Zhambyl Association of Tourism Industry (ZHATI), as well as the tourist information center (TIC).

In support of its intentions the parties - CBW, ZHATI and TIC signed a memorandum on cooperation in the development and promotion of tourist activity in the Zhambyl region, as well as creating favorable conditions for its development, define and support priority areas of tourism activities.
